Roles and Responsibilities

Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Mix paint and clear coats according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring color accuracy and finish quality. Apply paint using various techniques such as spray guns, brushes, and rollers, while maintaining a consistent and even coat. Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections, runs, or blemishes, and perform touch-ups or rework as necessary. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and proper waste disposal practices. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of quality control. Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in automotive painting, including color matching and specialty finishes. Conduct pre-paint inspections to identify and address any underlying issues that may affect the final outcome. Document work performed and materials used for each project to ensure accurate billing and inventory management. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide expert recommendations on finishes and colors.

Desired Candidate Profile

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in automotive refinishing is an asset. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automotive painting or a related field. Proven experience with color matching techniques and knowledge of various paint systems. Ability to interpret technical documents and follow detailed instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes. Physical stamina and dexterity to handle tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
