Job Description

:

Roughens aluminium surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to the surface, mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted, paint vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements Meet minimum standards of safety per assigned department Meet minimum standards of 5S Smooth surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils May recommend revision to internal maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship within Army regulations Must be able recognize and know proper usage of a variety of tools Reports to the shift lead or his/her designee

Requirements:

Shall have required progressive experience in technical training or experience beyond high school An understanding of common defects, what causes paint failures and how to correct them Experienced in surface preparation and paint finishing (color sanding and finish polishing) Ability to work within a schedule and adapt to sudden changes Self-starter with the ability to properly manage time Required to work flexible hours
