Identify electrical faults in vehicles using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
Interpret error codes and data from onboard vehicle diagnostic systems.
Repair or replace faulty wiring, fuses, switches, sensors, alternators, and batteries.
Install and fix components such as starter motors, lighting systems, ignition systems, and control modules.
Fit and configure accessories such as air conditioning units, and lighting upgrades, GPS systems, audio/video devices, alarm systems, .
Use wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repairs and installations.
Adhere to safety protocols while working with high-voltage systems and ensure work is compliant with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to avoid major breakdowns.
Inspect electrical parts during scheduled servicing of vehicles.
Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to troubleshoot combined mechanical and electrical issues.
Test and maintain batteries and vehicle charging systems, ensuring optimal performance.
Maintain records of all repairs and installations.
Report major issues or recurring faults to supervisors.
