Job Description

As an Autism Awareness Trainer, you'll be at the forefront of driving meaningful change through education. You'll deliver engaging, informative training sessions to a wide range of audiences -- from educators and employers to community leaders and service providers. Your role is vital in shaping how society supports and includes people on the autism spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and facilitate autism awareness trainings (virtual and in-person). Tailor sessions for specific groups (e.g., teachers, HR departments, healthcare staff). Translate current research and lived experiences into accessible content. Promote neurodiversity-affirming and inclusive practices. Collaborate with autistic self-advocates and community partners. Create educational resources and follow-up materials. Collect and incorporate feedback to improve training effectiveness.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred). Proven experience working with autistic individuals or in autism education/support services. Excellent communication, public speaking, and facilitation skills. Deep understanding of autism, neurodiversity, and inclusion principles. Ability to build empathy and shift perspectives through storytelling and interaction. Comfortable with adapting materials and technologies for different audiences.

Bonus Points For:

Certification as a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) or similar. Experience in curriculum development or instructional design. Familiarity with trauma-informed or neurodiversity-affirming practices. Personal lived experience of autism or caregiving.
