As the designated Authority Liaison Engineer or Architect of Record, you will oversee project execution from initial concept through to final delivery. Your primary function will be to interface with Dubai Municipality and relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring full alignment with legal, zoning, and code compliance standards. Your leadership will be key in driving the regulatory aspects of project delivery.
o Regulatory Oversight:
Interpret UAE building regulations, planning policies, and zoning codes, advising teams on their application to architectural projects.
Secure all required permits, approvals, and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the appropriate local authorities.
o Liaison & Communication:
Act as the official liaison between the architectural team, AOR and local governmental agencies.
Lead discussions, reviews, and negotiations with municipal bodies, ensuring clarity and alignment on design and compliance matters.
o Authority Documentation:
Compile, organize, and submit all documents required for authority approvals, including exemption requests and compliance documentation.
Track approvals through an organized Authority Tracker and maintain comprehensive logs of all correspondence and updates from authorities.
Keep the authority workflow and approval process chart updated and accessible.
o Risk & Compliance Mitigation:
Detect potential regulatory barriers early in the design stage and suggest effective mitigation strategies.
Provide guidance to the design and construction teams on compliance risks and offer actionable solutions for adherence.
o Project Integration & Collaboration:
Work in close coordination with architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers to ensure that all regulatory considerations are incorporated seamlessly into project deliverables.
Proactively resolve authority-related issues to maintain project momentum and avoid timeline disruptions or budget excesses.
o Regulatory Intelligence & Process Enhancement:
Monitor updates to codes, laws, and industry norms.
Drive process optimization by proposing innovative solutions to improve regulatory engagement and overall workflow efficiency.
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelors or Diploma in Civil / Architecture
