ATC Instructor CAT I Grade: 7 Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. Function as a Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator - Air Traffic Control (ATC) CAT II in providing realistic Aerodrome, Non Radar Approach Control and Radar Approach Control Simulations to deliver the Air Traffic Controller training program within the Air Traffic Control training Unit at the KFAA. Function as a Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator - Weapons Director (WD) CAT II in providing realistic Weapons Director Simulations to deliver the Weapons Director training program within the Weapons Director training Unit at the KFAA JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Within the Air Traffic Control Section, the Job Holder is to: Routinely operate as an Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator ATC/WD in the provision of realistic simulations in the following ATC Operations 2D / 3D Visual Tower, Radar Approach and Non Radar Approach Control Simulations. Within the Weapons Director Section, the Job Holder is to: Routinely operate as a Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator WD in the provision of realistic simulations in Weapons Director Simulations. Assist in the preparation and production of visual aids and student daily mission briefings WD Requirements for both PCU Operator - ATC and WD CAT I Assist in-house demonstrations of ATC/WD simulator operations to include all Aircraft and Vehicle Models, Airspace Data, Weather and Operational Exercises. To be Cross trained and maintain the currencies required for both specialities as a PCU Operator ATC/WD in simulator Operations within the Technical Studies Department. Assist in the instruction of cadets on the simulator equipment. Assist in the instruction of cadets on aircraft keyboard inputs. Assist in the instruction of cadets on R/T phraseology and ATC/WD Operations. Assist with issues regarding the operation of the ATC/WD simulators in accordance with ICAO, GACA and RSAF ATC & WD procedures. Assist in the instruction of subjects within their experience on ATC/WD Courses. Assist with the input of Data into the LCMS. Assist with the development, programming, editing and implementation of practical exercises on the ATC/WD simulators. Assist in the review and amendments of Simulator Support Staff training material and procedures. Assist with the production of ATC/WD training manuals. Carry out administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department (HOD). Provide feedback to management to improve service performance and responsiveness and identify opportunities. Use the TMIS / LMS system to maintain accurate, up to date, comprehensive, orderly and easily accessible training records. Contribute to the maintenance and use of training resources including textbooks, workbooks, classrooms, laboratories, training devices, and consumables. Assist with the preparation, and testing of Mission / Exercise Simulator and Skills trainer Exercises, quizzes, examinations and teaching aids. Assist with the Management of Data into the LCMS. Ensure compliance with SHE policy and processes and Duty of Care responsibilities. Provide an environment that encourages independent learning and a military ethos. Provide feedback to management to improve service performance and responsiveness and identify opportunities. Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required by the Company. Complete an Electronic Personnel Development Reviews (E-PDR) annually. Adhere to acceptable standards of behaviour, dress and performance as defined in Company policy. Any other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the Company. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION The Job Holder is required to have knowledge and experience as follows: Air Traffic Control (ATC) - CAT II Air Traffic Control Simulator Operations with a minimum of three years' experience in an Air Traffic Control Training Department at an Academic or Aviation Training Organization or have completed the Company SNTTP ATC PCU Intern Course. Knowledge and experience of ATC Regulations, Procedures and Flight Deck Operations. Pilot with a Minimum of 500 Operational Flying hours and certified Simulator Instructor. Weapons Director (WD) - CAT II Weapons Director Simulator Operations with a Minimum of three years' experience as a Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operator in Weapons Director training or completed the Company SNTTP Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Weapons Director Intern Course. Knowledge and experience of Weapons Director regulations and procedures and Flight Deck Operations. Pilot with a Minimum of 500 Operational Flying hours and certified Simulator Instructor.
