Asst. Manager Procurement & Property

Job Description

To provide an effective, sustainable and cost-efficient procurement service to BPTC that minimizes the spending with suppliers and ensures that contracts meet the business requirements, that the best value for money is delivered and that the equipment, company resources, and general infrastructure/property of the company is properly maintained, especially with regard to stations, accommodation complex, and the bus depot.

· Ensure that all procurement processes are documented and followed · Manage all tenders for services and supplies, ensuring that the business gets the best value for money and that their requirements are met fully · Manage the automated system to issue Purchase Orders and ensure that the Line Managers and others authorized to purchase items follow this · Ensure there is an effective good receipt process in place · Develop robust contracts with all suppliers that meet business requirements, protect the business and are in line with our operating processes and principles · Ensure we only deal with ethical suppliers and abide by group and local policies · Put in place regular contract reviews to ensure suppliers are meeting their contractual obligations · Ensure the best services, physical, residential and working environment for customers and employees, utilising best business practices to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and increase work productivity · Ensure all risks and safety hazards at all premises are managed and eliminated in a timely manner · Manage contracts in respect of facilities management and security · Manage property budget, and provide any capital expenditure requests with appropriate documentation and quotations · Oversight of contractors involved in any refurbishing and renovations, ensuring there is a safe system of work in place and in line with Safety department · Negotiating with contractors and other service providers, to ensure the best value is received and that all contract deliverables are met to a high standard · Sign off on expenditure to agreed levels of authority · Adhering to appropriate regulations and safety procedures · Conduct regular building/premises inspections · Support an effective environmental management strategy

Requirements

Graduate or further level education with either academic or vocational qualifications with relevant technical and management experience

Good and effective communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential.

Have prior experience in procurement and property management

Good proficiency in Excel, and Word is essential
