The Role

This role is tailor-made for legal professionals in the ETI team in Muscat, with an inquisitive mindset, eager to be intellectually challenged and to drive meaningful change. You will have the chance to work on projects that frequently make headlines and play a vital role in the battle against climate change. In this position, you will engage with an array of clients from both the private and public sectors, participating in a wide spectrum of transactions across the market. While our primary focus is on projects in Muscat, the Middle East, the UK, and Ireland, there may be opportunities to contribute to international ventures. Given the diversity of work and clientele, we seek candidates with a solid understanding of legal and commercial risks, as well as strong contractual skills. As a problem solver, you'll assess and navigate risks adeptly, collaborating with all stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. This role also places you at the forefront of client relationships, offering room for business development and the establishment of your own practice as you progress in your chosen career path. With the Muscat and Middle East teams currently undergoing growth and development, this role presents a substantial opportunity for progression. Required experience, skills, and attributes

Technical Skills Project Development Background: Strong background in project development and procurement, with a focus on the following types of contracts and arrangements: Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Feedstock Contracts Offtake Agreements Oil & Gas/Construction Experience: While not a strict requirement, experience in the oil & gas or construction sectors is helpful. Private Practice Experience: Candidates must have a substantial portion of their career experience in private practice. While candidates with in-house experience will be considered, much of their career should have been spent in private practice.

Additional Skills Legal Expertise: A strong foundation in contract law, risk assessment, and contract negotiation skills. Project Management: Basic project management skills to ensure effective project execution. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding and adherence to relevant regulations and compliance standards in the energy and infrastructure sector. Problem Solving: An ability to identify, assess, and creatively solve legal and commercial challenges. Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain client relationships. Business Development: The capacity to identify new business opportunities and contribute to practice growth. Multi-Jurisdictional Knowledge: For candidates interested in international projects, expertise in navigating legal systems in different jurisdictions.
