The Associate Materials Technician will review and understand Procurement specifications and contract quality requirements for supplier supplied equipment/materials for CB&I projects. The role directly reports to the Supply Chain Lead. The Associate Materials Tech routinely interacts with internal Operations & Function Managers, Professional Staff, Craft Employees, and external Clients, Customers, and Technical/Professional Advisors. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Participate in Precontract identification and input on Source inspection and Quality requirements that affect cost and delivery based on Tank List components, including adding man hours involvement for the role for post contract execution Participate in conformed contract review and KOM at initial stage and identify Criticality Rating / Inspection Level for all components for CB&I scope of supply, and work with Purchasing Manager and Project Manager to create SQS Plan, and highlight inspection/testing related lead time for the overall buying cycle that is reported in the CSM Is part of the "Requisition group" which is essential to create a complete buying demand package to buyer consisting of IRF (Inspection Requirement Form / SDR (Supplier Document Register = deliverables needed from supplier pertaining to inspection and testing) / RITA (Requisition Index of Technical Attachments = contract and internal requirement flow downs to ensure client / CBI requirement for inspection and testing are conveyed to supplier as part of requisition and not post PO) Based on contract requirement and minimum CBI requirement, provide for each component - as identified - IRF / SDR / RITA (even when no source inspection is needed, inspection and testing requirement must be conveyed to supplier, along with contract flow downs and documents needed from supplier for full compliance and adequacy of orders) Participate where required in the TEDS process, and liaise with client for any deviation through Project Team (raising TQ or deviations as warranted to clear points) Participate in PIM where required based on the defined criticality rating/inspection level for the components Review supplier deliverables pertaining to inspection and testing for alignment with the set requirement Compile Inspection Assignment Packages consisting of unpriced PO / IRF / SDR / RITA (along with the docs ) / drawings and data sheets as applicable / templates for filling for source inspections, along with ensuring latest revisions are always updated and communicated Coordinate source inspections and notifications as necessary to client, and ensure iDocs is always up to date with source inspector records, signed certs and supplier inspection records Perform Supplier Audits where requiredEssential Qualifications and Education Suitable Engineering degree (Typically Mechanical or Welding Engineering) Preferred knowledge of the following codes - ASME Section II, ASME Section V, ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASTM Material, API 650, API 620, AWWA D100, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5/B16.47 etc...
