How you will contribute
You will be working closely with a team to resolve complex matters that pose a threat or disruption to normal operations for our clients. You will support incisive fraud investigations, create forensic analysis, and provide litigation support.
You will be helping our Middle East clients and their counsel understand and resolve the financial impacts around their legal matters relating to complex accounting and financial issues across a wide range of projects involving economic disputes, claims, investigations of white-collar crime, forensic accounting and consulting, and post-acquisition disputes. Working as a partner to our clients by building consultative relationships you will develop an in-depth understanding of the client, the industry and the case to surface and address key issues, from the big picture to the smallest details. You will develop and communicate your analyses, findings, and insights to your team. Relying on your initiative and flexibility to deliver results in an agile and collaborative team environment, you will build strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses. Some of the main responsibilities are:
Effectively gathering, analysing, and sorting through large data sets that can sometimes be unorganized and incomplete
Assisting with compiling, analysing, and documenting information in an investigation, dispute, or accounting related matter
Contributing to the creation of complex financial models and analyses
Documenting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information used for analyses
Assisting with the drafting of expert reports and other client deliverables using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other applications
Performing quality control review of expert reports and other client deliverables
Assisting with researching technical and industry specific issues
Developing and suggesting solutions to complex problems by thinking "outside the box"
Balancing multiple client projects and other responsibilities
Communicating proactively and presenting effectively to all levels of the engagement team
As an Associate in our Disputes and Investigations team, you will have the opportunity to take your career to the next level by gaining invaluable experience across different industries, sectors, and companies on a variety of interesting and critical projects. You will have the chance to gain exposure to a variety of disputes and investigation projects across an array of clients and over time grow and specialize within the areas that interest you.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Typically, this role requires:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Working towards or completion of ACCA, ACA or CPA or equivalent certifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in audit and/or a forensic and disputes consulting practice
Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken, written and reading) is essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively, work under pressure, and seek guidance when needed
Ability and willingness to adapt to flexible work schedules to meet client needs
Ability to work in office and travel across the Middle East region
