ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR IN RADIOGRAPHY

JOB PURPOSE
The Department of Medical Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Radiography to commence September 2024. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Radiography with an outstanding record of academic and research performance.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Teach a range of core courses related to Medical Diagnostic Imaging.
- Lead in teaching at the Undergraduate level in theory and laboratory, as well as in clinical practice.
- Contribute to curriculum refinement and evaluation.
- Contribute to accreditation activities.
- Supervise senior and graduate students in their graduation projects and dissertations.
- Actively engage in research and community service.
- Evaluate students\' learning using various methods of assessments.
- Advise students on academic matters.
- Actively participate in departmental assignments and student activities as assigned by the department chair or college dean. Serve on department, faculty and university committees as appointed or elected.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent professional writing skills (research proposal, scientific monographs, scientific reports, etc.) and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills that can produce effective professor-student interactions.
- Behavioral competencies in terms of adaptability, decisiveness, initiatives, perseverance, organizational skills, stress management and valuing profession and diversity.
- Team Collaboration and integration.
- The candidate should have a Ph.D. in one of the disciplines of Radiography.
- Proven experience in teaching radiography courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to engage students, deliver effective lectures, and implement diverse teaching methodologies including assessment.
- A strong record of scholarly research, including publications in reputable journals and presentations at conferences relevant to radiography.
- Clinical experience as a radiographer/ radiological technologist/sonographer, ideally in a variety of medical imaging settings. Practical knowledge of radiography/medical imaging procedures, equipment operation, and patient care.
