The Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC), the first of its kind in the Arabian Gulf region, at the
American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Journalism
and Public Relations (English) to begin teaching in Spring 2024.

The School invites qualified applicants for the full-time opening to teach multimedia journalism and public relations.
Candidates should have solid teaching credentials and/or professional experience in converged journalism across a variety
of platforms. Responsibilities will include teaching basic and advanced courses (in English) in an evolving
journalism/communication curriculum.

MBRSC presently offers the Bachelor of Communication and Information Studies degree with majors in Journalism /Digital
Production and Storytelling, and a Master of Art in Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media.

The successful candidate will have:

• Doctorate or a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in the discipline from a Western accredited institution at the time

of appointment;

• Strong research record and/or professional experience in Journalism/Communication/Public Relations;
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to be an active team player and a contributor to continuous improvement in the Mohammed Bin

Rashid School for Communication.

Candidates are expected to meet standards for professional engagement and scholarly activity, , as well as assist in student
advising, curriculum development, and other service to the department, school, and community.

The compensation package for this position is competitive and is based on the expatriate model. Besides tax-exempt basic
salary, it includes housing, annual two-way airfare, health/life insurance, professional memberships, conference
attendance expenses, assistance with children\'s tuition, and other components.
