Job Summary:
The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Petroleum Engineering, starting in Spring 2026. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, along with at least one postgraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in areas such as drilling, reservoir simulation, reservoir characterization, stimulation, and production, in addition to a solid foundation in core chemical engineering principles.

The successful applicant will be expected to engage in high-quality research within their area of specialization, utilize modern and student-centered teaching approaches, mentor undergraduate students, and contribute actively to curriculum development, departmental growth, and university initiatives. Teaching responsibilities will include core petroleum engineering courses such as Reservoir Rock and Fluid Properties, Drilling Engineering, Well Logging, Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Production Engineering, Reservoir Simulation, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Petroleum Economics, and Applied Reservoir Simulation. The candidate should also be capable of teaching introductory-level and laboratory-based courses and supervising senior design projects.
