Job Description

The Department of Integrative Agriculture at UAE University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor with teaching and research experience in environmental planning, horticulture, and ecological landscape design. The candidate will teach courses in landscape design, plant propagation, urban horticulture, and sustainable landscaping, supervise graduate research focused on innovative, sustainable landscaping, and climate-resilient plants. They will collaborate with students and faculty to develop landscape design pedagogy and should have theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching methods and design tools like Auto CAD, SketchUP, Enscape, or Lumion for landscape strategies and sustainable horticulture in arid regions. This includes green infrastructure, environmental remediation, ecological resilience, urban ecology, and soil and water management technologies. The role is a permanent position involving teaching, research, and community service, with primary duties in undergraduate landscape design courses.
Minimum Qualification
The applicants should have Minimum Ph.D. in horticulture (ornamental/landscape design), or a closely related discipline from a distinguished international university and Post-doctoral experience. Proficiency in communication, leadership, and networking to facilitate effective collaboration. o Commitment to upholding elevated standards in teaching (in English) and student mentorship. o Proven dedication to fostering diversity and adeptness in interdisciplinary collaboration within the agricultural domain. o Demonstrated track record of published works in the realm of landscape design/ science. o Teaching experience in relevant areas o Good h-index according to Scopus ranking. o Demonstrated ability to attract internal and external grants.
