Job Description

Job Summary Restaurant Assistant Manager runs the staff when the Manager is not on duty. They direct other employees through their daily routines and interact with customers to make sure that they have a satisfactory experience. Assistant managers act as quality control, ensuring customer satisfaction through training employees properly and adhering to company policy. Restaurant Assistant Manager ensures employees perform a variety of tasks, from preparing the food, stocking supplies, serving, charging people for their food, handling cash, credit cards, and a cash register, cleaning tables and counters, resetting tables, greeting customers and answering queries. Responsibilities:

  • To demonstrate excellent product knowledge of all food and special functions held at The Surf Cafe/LEEN'S.
  • To review monthly forecasts and schedule resources accordingly.
  • To ensure that all standard recipes are followed with the entire standard requirement and strictly controlled wastages.
  • To supervise the undertaking of physical asset inventories when required.
  • To ensure that all equipment is cleaned, when necessary or according to their schedules.
  • To maintain and create a working environment that reflects a sense of place.
  • To assist in the process of recruiting new employees.
  • To continuously train and motivate subordinates to ensure the Restaurant standards are maintained.
  • To assist supervisors in generating work schedules for service personnel, according to forecast demand requirements.
  • To delegate responsibilities to staff and ensures tasks are completed.
  • To handle any guest complaint in a professional manner.
  • To ensure that disciplinary actions are taken, when necessary.
  • To perform any additional or special duties, as directed by superior.
  • To maintain the highest level of personal hygiene and grooming always, as per the standards.
  • To practice proper telephone etiquette with colleagues and restaurant guests.
  • To ensure that all tasks assigned by superiors are completed, in a timely fashion.
  • To ensure that all channels of communication are respected, and information is disseminated to the correct receivers.
  • To ensure excellent communication and working relationships with colleagues are maintained.
  • To ensure that a safe, hygienically fit working environment is always maintained and reports any concerns or faults immediately to the immediate supervisor.
  • To remain updated on all the Restaurant happenings, including reservations of guests, VIP guests and daily events.
  • To exhibit an outstanding knowledge of The Surf Cafe /LEEN'S
  • To understand the Restaurant Policies and Procedures, including during emergency situations.
  • To attend daily culinary briefing and monthly F&B meeting when required. To conduct monthly communication meeting.
  • To conduct the daily briefing prior to service.
  • To attend all trainings carried out by the company.
  • To ensure maintenance work is completed, in a timely and professional manner.
  • To ensure that all staff attend trainings as per scheduled by the head office.
  • To ensure all fixed assets are well maintained
  • To demonstrate knowledge and interest in goals, and objectives of The Surf Cafe/LEEN'S brand
  • To ensure that Annual Leave and public holidays are always kept to the lowest
  • To ensure that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters of the U.A.E. Law.
  • Calculate future needs in kitchenware and equipment and place orders, as needed Manage and store vendors' contracts and invoices
  • Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
  • Prepare shift schedules
  • Process payroll for all restaurant staff
  • Keep detailed records of daily, weekly and monthly costs and revenues Arrange for new employees' proper onboarding (scheduling trainings and ordering uniforms)
  • Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
  • Gather guests' feedback and recommend improvements to the menus.
  • Coordinate with various departments and ensure staff set up and supply remain according to departmental standards.
  • Monitor and ensure completion of orders, administer all maintenance projects plus communicate for all repairs.
  • Prepare documents and maintain adherence to departmental standards.
  • Monitor status of assignments and any follow-up in association with manager plus supervisor in waiting list.
  • Overhaul and monitor archives plus check price list of food and drinks inclusive and analyse on food and drinks.
  • Inspect food and beverage product preparation programs and maintain goodwill of company.
  • Ensure the staff is well trained on the basic service and Food & Beverage knowledge.
