Job Overview
As an Assistant Resident Engineer - Viaduct, you will play a vital role in supervising the construction of viaducts on metro rail projects. Your duties will include technical oversight of all structural works, contractor coordination, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising viaduct construction including beams, columns, decks, spans, and other structural components
• Monitor structural work progress and ensure construction meets approved designs and safety protocols
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements
• Coordinate with design engineers and contractors for resolving on-site issues
• Oversee work inspectors, surveyors, and other team members on assigned viaduct sections
• Maintain daily logs and contribute to weekly and monthly project progress reports
• Attend coordination meetings with service authorities, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Validate 'as-built' drawings and oversee final project handover documentation
• Support the enforcement of safety procedures and project quality goals

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum 15 years of experience in structural supervision for viaducts, bridges, or metro rail projects
• Strong knowledge of viaduct components such as bearings, expansion joints, abutments, and supports
• Familiarity with construction quality assurance, sampling, and testing procedures
• Ability to lead technical teams and interface with contractors and consultants
• Fully computer literate with experience in project documentation and relevant engineering software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Work experience on metro rail or infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC is preferred
