Role Summary
As an Assistant Resident Engineer Civil in Dubai, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and supervision of road and utility works. You'll act as the key point of contact with contractors and service authorities, ensure timely inspections, and maintain accurate site records. This role is ideal for experienced civil engineers who understand project coordination and can lead quality and safety efforts across large infrastructure sites.
Core Duties

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising civil and wet utility construction activities
• Act as project lead in the Resident Engineer's absence
• Coordinate closely with contractors, consultants, and government authorities to facilitate approvals and site progress
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions
• Monitor daily construction activities and maintain detailed project logs
• Lead and support inspectors and surveyors in executing quality inspections
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and participate in HSE initiatives
• Chair or participate in utility coordination meetings and prepare progress documentation
• Assist in quality control by reviewing test results, material compliance, and workmanship
• Ensure accurate handover documentation and as-built records

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (UAE attestation preferred)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in site supervision and infrastructure project delivery
• Strong background in roads, sewerage, and wet utilities construction in the Gulf region
• Familiarity with contract administration and construction documentation
• Working knowledge of quality control procedures and technical reporting
• Competency in computer applications for site supervision and data tracking
• Excellent English communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to liaise with government agencies and utility service providers
• Experience with handover and final clearance of works to service authorities
