JOB PURPOSE

The Department of Mass Communication at the College of Communication, University of Sharjah, UAE, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Media Production.



We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and accomplished scholar with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will join our vibrant and diverse department, contributing to the academic and professional growth of our students. The appointment will be starting from the Academic year 2025-2026.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Be an active researcher with a proven record of high-quality publications in Scopus-indexed Journals, focusing on Media Production and Design (at least 2 Scopus publication during the current contract) Teach undergraduate courses in Media Production in Arabic and/or in English, including but not limited to R&TV Shooting, R&TV Editing, Principals for Media Production, Infographics, 3D Design, Animation, AI Design applications, and related subjects, using innovative and creative teaching methods. Contribute to the department's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through teaching, research, and service. Efficiently handle advising tasks. Be able to teach in Arabic or English or both. Advise and mentor students in academic and career development, including research projects and internships.

REQUIRED SKILLS

A Ph.D. in Media production or a related field from a reputable university. Evidence of successful teaching, advising, and service effectiveness. A record of professional integrity, collegiality, and a commitment to diversity.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative engagement within the department and university, as well as building connections with national/international professionals, businesses, and alumni.
