1. Faculty members are expected to provide up-to-datereportsinvolvingteaching activities and student advising as assigned bythe department
2. Faculty members will be responsible for coursedevelopmentandparticipate in curriculum and program development
3. Meet all instructional and advising responsibilities asspecifiedinthe policies and procedures (refer to Part-4 within this handbook)
4. Participate in scholarly and research activities whichenhancetheirprofessional development and contribute to their discipline
5. Serve as appropriate in the department, college and university committees
6. Provide professional services to the University and community
Teachdidactic lectures, clinical courses, and labs as needed in the areas of theadult and critical care nursing specialty;
Provide clinical supervision;
Developcurriculum and programs;
Mentorand advise students;
Participatein faculty governance including serving on Departmental, College, and/or Universitycommittees;
Provideprofessional services to the University and community;
Developand/or maintain a funded program of research;
Maintainan ongoing record of scholarly productivity including publications ininternationally recognized journals; and
Fosterand participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams in theCollege, QU Health Sector and across the University.
Qualifications
A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is necessary.
Required to be at least recognized authority in the subject area with achievements in research and scholarship, and an in-depth understanding of own specialism(s) to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
Evidence of relevant research potential, including potential to publish in appropriate leading journals.
Evidence of ability in teaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn.
Ability to initiate development in the curriculum and to take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriate assessment techniques.
Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on areas of teaching.
Engaged in continuous professional development.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of students.
Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize and deliver programs of work.
APhD in Nursing from a university ranked among the top 500 in the Times HigherEducation rankings.
Specialtycertification is preferred.
Activeregistered nurse license from home country or country of residency.
Eligibilityfor an educator license from Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions(DHP), and to be obtained within six months of hiring.
Aminimum of 3 years clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Aminimum of 2 years of experience teaching in an undergraduate nursing program.
Evidenceof clinical experience and or teaching experience in critical care nursing.
Experience with competency-basedcurriculum.
Experience withnext generation NCLEX-RN exam is preferred.
Recordof scholarly achievements commensurate with rank.
Anactive or emerging program of research.
Evidenceof ability to advance diversity, equity and inclusion efforts through teaching,research/scholarship and/or service.
