Job Description

Overview

+ Responsible for the management, planning, operations, and daily supervision of water related activities. Works on water related solutions exercising independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining program results in concert with and at the direction of the Site ORC. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the water processing activities.

Responsibilities

+ Manages daily tasks and work orders involving water treatment operations and maintenance.

+ Oversees testing of potable water at bench lab for pH, conductivity, free available chlorine, turbidity and bacteriological.

+ Schedules personnel to operate and maintain equipment at the treatment facility.

+ Manages potable water operations during emergency responses.

+ Establishes adequate material, chemicals, and equipment inventories for system needs.

+ Draft the necessary reports.

+ Ensures the water treatment plant maintains compliance requirements & follows applicable regulations.

+ Assist operators with training courses for certifications that enhance knowledge of utilities, safety, and management.

+ Reviews plans and provide inspections, if necessary, for various projects as needed.

+ Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a diverse team of personnel.

Qualifications

+ Minimum Qualifications

+ Education/Certificates: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ High school diploma and at least 500 credit hours of vocational training courses in water treatment & distribution systems operation and maintenance.

+ Certifications:

+ Must have at a minimum Water Treatment & Water Distribution Level 2 Certifications equivalent to NAVFAC certifications.

+ Experience:

+ Minimum of 8 years' of experience with water treatment & distribution systems operation and maintenance.

+ Other Requirements/Skills:

+ Must be fluent in English.

+ Must have light vehicle driver's license and ability to drive a forklift is preferred.

+ Must have hand-eye coordination necessary to operate various tools / equipment and able to work in hot environment.
