Job Description



Job purpose: - The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing process to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of various products for Shoemart. The incumbent will play a key role in developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing and contracts, and maintaining quality standards. By analyzing market trends, evaluating suppliers, and leveraging negotiation skills, the individual will optimize the company\'s sourcing operations to achieve competitive pricing, reliable suppliers, and high-quality products, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Minimum Requirements: -

Education & Qualifications - Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Fashion, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a footwear and handbag related field.

Experience - Minimum 10 year of proven experience in footwear and handbags sourcing, preferably in a similar role

Specialized Training - Microsoft Office.

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of the China/global market for materials, trims, and supplier networks.

- Deep understanding of various materials, trims, and components used in footwear and handbags production.

- Familiarity with factory bases and manufacturing processes for different types of footwear in China/India.

- Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven sourcing decisions.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Key Accountabilities: -

Supplier Identification and Selection:

- Identify potential suppliers of footwear, materials, trims, and components for footwear and handbags production.

- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality standards, pricing, and production capacities.

- Develop and maintain a strong network of suppliers in China.

- Develop new supplier capable of handling less MOQ with quick response time and less lead time for online business.

Material and Trim Sourcing:

- Research and stay up to date with the latest trends, materials, and trims suitable for footwear and handbags.

- Collaborate with the buying teams to understand their requirements and translate them into sourcing strategies.

- Source and recommend appropriate materials and trims based on quality, cost, and design specifications suggested by buying team.

- Material consolidation based on the usage and finding supplier to shift to nomination model.

Market Analysis:

- Monitor the Chinese market for materials, trims, and other relevant resources, identifying emerging trends and opportunities.

- Conduct market research to gather information on pricing, availability, and quality of materials and trims.

- Stay informed about trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to discover new suppliers and materials.

Factory Base Identification:

- Identify and evaluate footwear factories in China based on their specialization, production capabilities, and quality standards.

- Maintain a database of reliable and compliant factories for different types of footwear.

- Collaborate with buying team and factories to emphasis on open and material consumption-based costing.

- Coordinate with the production and quality assurance teams to ensure the selected factories meet the required standards.

Supplier Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships.

- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive advantage.

- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve supplier quality and delivery.
