Job Description

Black & Grey HR is excited to partner with one of Abu Dhabis leading businesses in their search for an experienced Assistant Manager (Lifeguard) who will be responsible to assist in directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating beach lifeguarding and emergency rescue operations, encompassing tower staffing, equipment operation, vehicle usage, and the enforcement of beach rules and regulations. Taking responsibility for ensuring beach lifeguard safety standards are met and contribute to the planning, directing, and coordination of lifeguard staff work and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in managing and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs; recommend and administer policies and procedures.

- Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend, within departmental policy, appropriate service, and staffing levels in coordination with operations manager.

- Assist to plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plan for lifeguard staff; assign work activities, projects and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems.

- Observe swimmers from lifeguard towers or patrol vehicles; enforce laws, codes and ordinances governing beach safety; warn swimmers of dangerous surf or other hazardous beach conditions.

- Respond to various emergencies; take command of and direct rescue situations; perform water rescues and administer first aid and CPR.

- Operate and inspect rescue equipment, lifeguard towers and vehicles; perform or coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.

- Maintain records of lifeguard and emergency rescue activities and operations; assist to investigate complaints and accidents; prepare associated accident, incident and emergency rescue reports, initiate action for repairs/replacement

- Initiate and conduct various lifeguard training programs including under water search training.

- Select, train, motivate and evaluate lifeguard personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies in coordination with Emergency & Rescue Manager.

- Ensure lifeguard teams always have correct ID's and insurance cards, as well as correct uniforms and personal safety equipment.

- Maintain a level of personal fitness to perform all duties associated with being a beach lifeguard and lead as an example to lifeguard team.

- Aware of safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations

- Be aware of and fulfill clients information security responsibilities.

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Sports Management, Physical Education or relevant discipline.

- Professional certification in in beach lifeguarding, water rescue or relevant certificates is a must.

- 4-7 years of experience in both beach and poof lifeguard services.

- MS Office and Project Management Software experience.

- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) practices and policies.

- Experience of safe working practices, risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work systems, and water treatment management.

- Demonstrate experience in Leading & managing business service teams, including the management work allocation process, performance management, staff development and career planning

- Ability to swim 400m in less than 8 minutes, 150m rescue tube sprint in less than 1 minute 30 seconds, tread water without hands for 4 minutes.
