Responsibilities:
Directly supporting the Instructor:
Assisting with workshop preparation: Setting up stations, gathering materials, preparing tools and equipment, ensuring safety protocols are in place.
Demonstrating techniques: Offering guided practice under the Instructor\'s supervision, clarifying instructions, and providing troubleshooting support.
Providing individual guidance: Assisting students one-on-one with their projects, answering questions, and offering constructive feedback.
Grading and assessing student work: Evaluating progress, providing feedback on skills and techniques, and helping students improve their work.
Maintaining studio organization: Cleaning and organizing workspaces, replenishing supplies, and ensuring equipment is kept in good working order.
Independent responsibilities:
Teaching basic jewelry-making techniques: Conducting introductory workshops or sessions on specific techniques (e.g., soldering, stone setting, basic metalworking).
Managing workshop logistics: Registering students, collecting fees, coordinating schedules, and communicating with participants.
Maintaining studio inventory: Tracking supplies, ordering materials, and managing equipment maintenance.
Developing and updating instructional materials: Assisting with creating workshop outlines, preparing handouts, and maintaining resource libraries.
Marketing and promoting workshops: Contributing to outreach efforts, promoting enrollment, and attending events to represent the program.
Additional responsibilities might include:
Researching new jewelry-making techniques and trends.
Assisting with special events or demonstrations.
Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Contributing to the overall positive atmosphere and team spirit of the studio.
Qualifications:
Must have:
A formal qualification from a recognized authority related to Jewelry.
At least 3 years of experience as an Assistant to Instructor/Trainer in Jewelry with a solid understanding of curriculum/course development.
A formal qualification in training/instruction or teaching would be a distinct advantage.
