Job Purpose & Responsibilities The Assistant Manager of Finance oversees and manages the financial planning, accounting and related functions at the university. He/she leads a team of finance professionals and support personnel, works collaboratively with vice presidents, deans, directors and managers to develop a financially sustainable institution that ensures AURAK's integrity and accountability. Minimum Qualification and Education Essential: Bachelor's Degree Must have one professional accounting certification from the following:
CPA- Certified Public Accountant
CMA- Certified Management Accountant
ACCA- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
Desirable: Master's degree in Finance or Accounting Required Knowledge and Skills Knowledge in Accounting Software and ERP application; expert in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of developing financial controls, policies and systems, budgeting and financial reporting, financial modeling and cash forecasting; knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, IAS; working knowledge of ERP; strong Accounting background and In depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control Accounting and Internal controls. Proficiency with leadership, managing a finance section; decision making and managerial skills; communication; problem solving skills; attention to detail and a high level of accuracy; strong work ethic and integrity; high degree of professionalism and discretion. Work Experience
5-10 years' work experience in an accounting, auditing or finance department or organization
At least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Experience in the higher education sector or in auditing higher education institutions is an asset
Language proficiency required Essential: Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English; Desirable: Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Arabic Competencies
