Assistant Director of Finance
Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in managing the accounting department and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting. This role often has direct oversight of specific accounting functions and plays a key role in the day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management: Supervise daily accounting operations, including the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.
• Team Supervision: Directly manage and mentor accounting staff (e.g., Finance Manager, Accountants, AP/AR Clerks).
• Compliance & Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all requests are met and findings are addressed.
• System & Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
• Deputy Role: Act on behalf of the Director of Finance in their absence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role within a hospitality environment.
• Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
