Assistant Director of Engineering

We have a great opportunity for a talented, experienced indiviual to join our Engineering team as a Assistant Director. The successful applicant will assist the Director of Engineer with the general administration of the Engineering Dept, including supervising the proper maintenance and repair of all buildings, fixtures, fittings, and equipment as technical improvements, preventive maintenance and utilities consumption control.
What are we looking for?
The hotel comprises 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites and 6 four-bedroom villas with private pools, all furnished to the highest standards in a modern Arabic style. To meet the needs of long-staying guests, the hotel offers 161 fully-furnished spacious serviced apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom units. The hotel is located within the acclaimed Qaryat Al Beri complex, on a one-kilometre stretch of private beach overlooking the strait that separates Abu Dhabi Island from the mainland. The hotel is conveniently located next to a souk, offering a variety of shops under one roof. It is only a ten-minute drive.

- Supervises project implementations.
- Coordinates with/informs other departments regarding inconvenience, noise and duration due to projects.
- Calls for quotations and liaises with outside contractors, where work is not done \xe2\x80\x9cin house\xe2\x80\x9d.
- Plans and implements a preventive maintenance system to try and achieve zero defects for all equipment in the hotel.
- Provides training to all department staff to ensure efficient operation, proper maintenance and repair to equipment as well as good morale.
- Identifies utility management & controls problem noted.
- Updates on work progress on major/minor projects.
- Updates on outstanding work that may affect other departments.
- Conducts monthly internal meeting to keep staff informed and to seek feedback.
- Prepares and attends P&L and Dept. Heads meeting. Analyses performance and ways to improve it.
- Controls utilities supply on a daily basis.
- Implements formal energy management programme.
