Job Overview: The Assistant Accountant will assist the accounting team in managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities:
* Job Type: Full-time
- Transaction Processing:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records.
- Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
- Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
- Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries.
- Managing petty cash transactions.
- Controlling credit and chasing debt.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct basic financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.
- Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary financial information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Cost Accounting:
- Track and analyze production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Assist in calculating and updating the standard costs of plastic products.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and reconcile inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular inventory valuation and coordinate with production teams.
- Product Costing:
- Work closely with the production team to determine the cost of manufacturing specific plastic products.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Revenue Recognition:
- Ensure accurate recognition of revenue related to plastic product sales.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to verify pricing and discounts.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Odoo, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting is a plus.
