The Account Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the accounting or finance department. This role involves managing financial records, processing transactions, assisting with reports, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting operations. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily accounting tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding billing or payment issues
Help with budget tracking and expense monitoring
Perform administrative duties such as answering calls, responding to emails, and organizing files
Support the accounting team with audits and other financial projects
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with accounting software is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
