Job Description

We are an Engineering Consultancy office located in Business Bay, Dubai and we are looking for an Architectural Draftsman with at least 5 of experience.

Key Responsibilities of an Architectural Draftsman:

Drafting Architectural Drawings:

Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD or Revit. Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications to accurately represent building designs and components. Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, UAE regulations, and industry standards.

Coordination with Architects and Engineers:

Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and other design professionals to incorporate design changes and revisions into architectural drawings. Communicate effectively with project team members to clarify design intent, resolve conflicts, and ensure accurate representation of architectural elements.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):

Implement QA/QC procedures to maintain the accuracy and integrity of architectural drawings. Review drawings for completeness, clarity, and compliance with design standards and project requirements. Verify dimensions, annotations, and material specifications to ensure drawings are ready for construction use.

Revise and Update Drawings:

Update and revise architectural drawings based on markups, comments, and feedback provided by project stakeholders. Maintain organized drawing files and document control procedures to track revisions and ensure version control throughout the project lifecycle. Incorporate as-built information and field modifications into final drawings for record-keeping and project documentation purposes.

Site Support and Coordination:

Provide support during construction activities by addressing requests for information (RFIs), issuing drawing clarifications, and resolving drawing-related issues. Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to verify field conditions and ensure accurate implementation of architectural designs. Assist in the preparation of shop drawings and fabrication drawings for architectural components as needed.

Qualifications for an Architectural Draftsman:

Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an architectural draftsman, preferably in the construction industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant drafting software. Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction practices. Knowledge of UAE regulations, codes, and standards related to architectural drafting. Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with BIM software such as Revit is advantageous. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry standards and best practices in architectural drafting. Fluent in English
