Position Overview

The Architectural Draftsman will support the Architect/Interior Designer in developing accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, and detailed documentation for interior and architectural projects. The role requires strong technical proficiency, design understanding, and coordination skills to ensure all drawings reflect the design intent and comply with project standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed architectural and interior drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details. Develop construction and shop drawings based on the designer's concept and 3D models. Coordinate with the architectural and interior design teams to ensure alignment between concept, technical, and site drawings. Support material coordination and maintain updated drawing sets reflecting revisions or site changes. Work closely with consultants, contractors, and suppliers for technical clarifications. Ensure all drawings meet local authority requirements and company CAD standards. Assist in site measurement, documentation, and as-built drawings. Maintain organized drawing files and revision logs.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or Interior Design. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in architectural/interior drafting (preferably within a consultancy or design studio). Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp (3D visualization experience is a plus). Understanding of architectural detailing, joinery, and interior fit-out documentation. Familiarity with Qatar Construction Standards (QCS) and local building regulations is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills.

Optional Add-Ons (depending on company structure) Site experience preferred for coordination and verification of dimensions. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or InDesign for presentation layouts.
