We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Architectural Drafting Specialist to join our office-based team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or a professional with up to two years of experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise preparation of 2D as-built documentation directly from already processed and finalized 3D laser scan point cloud data. Working under the guidance of the As-Built Survey Technical Lead, the specialist will utilize industry-standard CAD and point cloud viewing software to accurately extract architectural features and create detailed drawings that reflect existing conditions.
Key Responsibilities
For As-Built Projects from 3D Laser Scan Data:
Generate accurate and detailed 2D CAD drawings (floor plans, sections, elevations, and other architectural details) from provided, processed 3D laser scan point cloud data.
Utilize point cloud viewing software (e.g., Autodesk Recap, CloudCompare, Faro Scene Viewer, Leica Cyclone PUBLISHER) to navigate, measure, and interpret spatial information.
Apply advanced drafting techniques in CAD software to convert point cloud measurements into clean, precise, and dimensionally accurate architectural drawings.
Ensure all as-built drawings adhere to company drafting standards, project specifications, and relevant architectural/building codes.
Perform thorough self-quality checks on drafted work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission for review by the Technical Lead.
Collaborate closely with the As-Built Survey Technical Lead to clarify project requirements, resolve drafting challenges, and incorporate feedback.
Manage and organize project drawing files and related documentation efficiently.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong understanding of best practices in 2D architectural drafting and as-built documentation.
Continuously improve drafting skills and knowledge of relevant software and technologies.
Contribute to the development and refinement of drafting workflows and standards under the direction of the Technical Lead.
Adhere to project timelines and deliverables, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
Qualifications
Experience:
Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of proven experience in 2D architectural CAD drafting. Experience working with or interpreting 3D point cloud data for as-built purposes is highly desirable.
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting & Design, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Portfolio:
A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in architectural drafting is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
CAD Software:
Expert Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
Point Cloud Software:
Proficiency in viewing and extracting data from software that handles point clouds (e.g., Autodesk Recap, CloudCompare, Faro Scene Viewer, Leica Cyclone PUBLISHER).
Drafting Knowledge:
Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards, conventions, and symbols.
Attention to Detail:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production.
Data Interpretation:
Ability to accurately interpret and translate complex 3D point cloud data into clear 2D representations.
Problem-Solving:
Strong spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Organizational Skills:
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Communication:
Good communication skills for effective internal collaboration with team members and the Technical Lead.
Construction Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of building construction components and systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
