Key Responsibilities:
Plan, lead, and instruct aquatic fitness classes including water aerobics, aqua Zumba, deep water fitness, and rehabilitation sessions.
Design safe, effective, and engaging water-based fitness routines that meet the needs of diverse participants.
Monitor participant performance, providing guidance, modifications, and motivation as needed.
Ensure participant safety by enforcing pool rules and monitoring water conditions.
Maintain accurate attendance and fitness progress records.
Educate participants on aquatic exercise benefits, proper form, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Work collaboratively with other fitness staff and pool personnel.
Assist in pool setup and takedown before and after classes.
Stay current with certifications and trends in aquatic fitness.
Requirements:
Certification in Aquatic Fitness Instruction (e.g., AEA, AFAA, YMCA, or equivalent).
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (required).
Previous experience leading aquatic fitness or water aerobics classes.
Strong understanding of human anatomy, exercise science, and aquatic safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to instruct and motivate individuals of varying fitness levels, including seniors and individuals with physical limitations.
Preferred Skills:
Lifeguard certification.
Experience with specialized classes (e.g., arthritis aquatic programs, prenatal aqua fitness).
Knowledge of pool maintenance and water safety standards.
Bilingual communication (if applicable to client base).
Work Environment:
Outdoor pool facilities.
Standing or moving in water for extended periods.
Variable schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
