Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified

Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)

to manage and oversee all lifting activities on-site. The Appointed Person is responsible for ensuring that all lifting operations are properly planned, risk-assessed, supervised, and carried out safely in compliance with regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee all lifting operations in accordance with relevant legislation (e.g., LOLER, BS 7121). Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements and lift plans for routine and complex lifting activities. Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure proper inspection and certification. Liaise with crane operators, riggers, site supervisors, and engineers to coordinate lifting tasks. Ensure that all personnel involved in lifting operations are competent and adequately trained. Monitor site lifting operations to ensure compliance with safety procedures and project requirements. Report and investigate incidents or near-misses related to lifting operations. Maintain documentation for all lifting activities, equipment records, and competency certifications. Advise management on lifting safety matters and participate in safety meetings and audits.

Requirements:

Certified

Appointed Person - Lifting Operations

(e.g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent). Minimum 5+ years of experience in lifting operations within construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, crane capacities, rigging gear, and relevant safety standards. Ability to read and interpret lift plans, load charts, and technical drawings. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficient in preparing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). Commitment to promoting health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.

Preferred:

Experience with heavy/critical lifts in high-risk environments. Familiarity with client standards (e.g., ADNOC, Aramco, etc.). First Aid, H2S, or other HSE certifications are an advantage.
