Job Description

Job Title: Application Architect Job Family: HIE Development JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for detailed analysis, design and maintenance of applications. Incumbent shall plan and direct the applications activities, as well as coordinate the effective design and implementation of information systems and applications in timely and accurate performance in support of system implementations and upgrades KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . Lead the development and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes . Provide leadership for applications implementation . Represent and provide application solutions . Responsible for detailed analysis, design and maintenance of application functions . Support in providing the right application architecture for the new Malaffi initiatives . Perform feasibility studies and requirements analysis for system integration between applications . Collaborate with end users, customers and vendors to define business requirements and designs for systems integrations . Provide architectural expertise to set direction and aid Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, DBAs and other HIE Architects . Document, develop, and enhance knowledge of HIE architecture/infrastructure to further develop the technology portfolio, as well as develop, document, communicate, and enforce a technology standard . Conduct research on Application emerging technologies in support of HIE development efforts and recommend technologies to increase cost effectiveness of HIE capabilities . Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems. . Review new and existing IT projects, systems design, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans . Develop and execute test plans to check technical performance, reporting on findings and making recommendations for improvement . Provide Technical Solution Delivery Inputs for the Application areas of expertise . Be a key input in to the Design Authority in providing choices to make design decisions Minimum Qualifications: . Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field Minimum Experience: . 10 years' experience in application architecture including strong familiarity with various interface engines, data analysis and database methodologies, programming, tiered webbased application architectures and IP networking architectures, client-focused interaction, internet/intranet constructs, technical training and writing technical documents . Preferably with experience in HIE information systems such as Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, laboratory information system, charting system, etc. Job Specific Skills: .
