Job Summary:

The Anesthesia Specialist is responsible for providing anesthesia care before, during, and after surgical and diagnostic procedures. This includes patient evaluation, anesthesia planning and administration, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative recovery management. The role demands high clinical competence and adherence to DOH standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct

pre-anesthetic evaluations

, including risk assessments, physical examinations, and consent discussions. Design and implement individualized

anesthesia plans

using appropriate modalities (general, regional, or local anesthesia). Monitor and manage patients'

vital signs, airway, fluid status

, and pain levels throughout procedures. Ensure safe

induction, maintenance, and emergence

from anesthesia. Manage

anesthesia-related complications

, including airway emergencies and resuscitation when needed. Provide

post-anesthesia care

, including pain management and monitoring in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit). Maintain

accurate and compliant documentation

as per DOH regulations. Participate in hospital

emergency response teams

, including code blue scenarios. Collaborate with surgical teams, ICU staff, and nursing for integrated patient care. Supervise junior doctors or residents, if applicable.

Qualifications & Licensure:

Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)

with

Specialization in Anesthesiology.

Valid

DOH license

or

eligibility letter

as Anesthesia Specialist.

Board Certification

(e.g., Arab Board, American Board, MRCP, FRCA, or equivalent recognized by DOH). Proficient in modern anesthetic techniques, including

ultrasound-guided regional blocks

, total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA), and critical care support.
