SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Under general supervision of the Head of Department, the Technician Provides technical support for the delivery and maintenance of cadaver anatomy labs for the related department. The Technician is responsible for supervising and maintaining all laboratories\' supplies, materials, equipment, and records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Human Anatomy and Physiology instructor in cadaver dissections.
Performs routine laboratory functions to support the laboratory facilities primarily dealing with anatomy cadaveric specimen. This includes planning, organizing, and controlling all activities and services of the dissecting room. Maintenance, storage and preservation of the cadavers and prosected specimen is required.
Prepares an inventory of all equipment, models, and specimen slides and assist in the preparation and activities of the histology classes.
Support faculty in performing anatomy teaching.
Update the department regarding the needs for new equipment and supplies.
Collects and ensure the safe disposal of cadaveric material.
Observes established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory.
Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor\'s degree or a higher diploma with major coursework in anatomy physiology, chemistry, microbiology, biology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Knowledge of anatomy.
Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures, willing to review anatomy materials, be able to follow written/oral instructions.
Ability to work comfortably with cadaveric material
Familiar with medical and scientific terminology
Proficient in handling laboratory work for different biomedical disciplines
Capable of producing high-quality work under pressure
Reliable, punctual, and well-organized personality
Ability to follow general safety standards for laboratory environments.
