Role Purpose:
The Analyst – Business Development is responsible for collecting valuable, updated, and accurate market data from the field and different sources. The role holder is also responsible for supporting the countries either remotely or on the ground and managing the in-store customer surveys post opening, by training the staff to interview customers and monitoring the smooth operation during the surveys.
His/her role will be essential in the development strategy of all formats in the defined country. If required, the Analyst – Business Development will prepare specific parameters to support the preparation of the sales estimate studies and Post Opening Customer Surveys.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Customer Surveys for a Selection of Operational Stores
Train either remotely or on the ground the staff to interview customers after checkout and prepare the appropriate tools such as Questionnaires, Maps and Digital kit
Supervise the fieldwork for the whole duration of the interviews (7days) in coordination with the local marketing and operation teams
Accountable for delivering consistency in the daily defined number of interviews:
800 interviews for a Hypermarket,
400 interviews for a Supermarket,
200-300 interviews for a Convenience store
Assist and prepare the qualitative elements to assess each post opening customer surveys and propose a first approach on the insight report endorsed by the Senior Analyst
Sales Studies for New Projects
The Analyst can be requested to collect valuable, updated, and accurate market data from the field in the required cities
Assist and prepare the qualitative elements to assess each location and propose a score card evaluation
Propose a first approach on the sales estimation for all projects by calculating for each zone the number of households, penetration rate, visit frequency and average basket that will be endorsed by the Senior Analyst
Reporting / Project Supervision
Support the coordination between the countries and the CORP HO teams, set up deliverable schedule.
Monthly follow up on the status of the deliverables
Audit and Reporting
Contribute to the preparation of business presentations and reports related to Business Development for various stakeholders, on periodic and ad hoc basis as and when required
Perform regular audit of various processes and databases for the Business Development function in order to identify gaps and risks, and propose corrective actions
Policies and Procedures
Support on development and review of Business Development policies and procedures and ensure it is implemented and reported on as a part of the policies and procedures for the Business Development function
Support on development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures
Human Capital Responsibilities
Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
Apply and follow MAF Retail’s Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
Provide training and feedback to direct reportees when required

Good knowledge of the Retail industry
Preferably retail stores background/experience

Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Strategy/Market Research/Statistics

2+ years of experience in a similar role
