The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing aluminum components to produce high-quality parts or structures according to specifications. This position requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Measure, cut, bend, and shape aluminum using saws, shears, brakes, and other metal fabrication tools.
Weld, rivet, or fasten aluminum parts using MIG/TIG welding and other joining techniques.
Assemble aluminum components into final products or sub-assemblies.
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, ensuring all specifications are met.
Operate and maintain fabrication machinery and hand tools.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and goals.
Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication or assembly issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or vocational training a plus).
2+ years of experience in metal or aluminum fabrication preferred.
Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding (aluminum-specific experience preferred).
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Familiarity with basic math and measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares).
Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a fabrication environment.
Preferred Skills:
Forklift certification or experience with material handling.
CNC or automated cutting equipment experience.
Experience in custom fabrication or architectural aluminum work.
Working Conditions:
Workshop or industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery..
May involve lifting materials and operating power tools.
