In this critical role, you will oversee the operation of our smelting facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of raw materials into high-quality metals. Playing a key role in optimizing production processes, leading a team of operators, and maintaining compliance with the Aluminium and Copper industry standards, specifically INGOTS.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
7 years of experience in Aluminium and Copper smelting or metallurgical environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Relevant certifications in metallurgy or industrial operations.
Strong understanding of smelting processes and electrolytic reduction techniques.
Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations and safe operating practices.
Strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory.
Strong understanding of smelting processes, metal properties, and operational safety standards.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the smelting facility, including monitoring equipment performance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Implement and optimize smelting processes to maximize output while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste.
Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in operational processes.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of production activities, safety inspections, and maintenance logs.
Knowledge of production systems:
Familiarity with automated smelting technologies and process control systems.
In-depth knowledge of smelting equipment, including furnaces, converters, and refining systems.
Proficiency in monitoring and control systems used in metallurgical processes.
Ability to interpret technical documents, schematics, and operational manuals.
Overseeing the electrolysis process to extract molten metal.
Supporting technical operations in roles such as process engineering, quality control, or maintenance.
Assisting in the planning and execution of smelter operations, including scheduling and performance optimization.
Monitoring and maintaining equipment used in smelting, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Collaborating with teams involved in project management, process improvement, and production planning.
