is responsible for the planning, oversight, and execution of all activities related to aircraft arresting systems (AAS). This role provides technical leadership, ensures compliance with applicable military, aviation, and safety standards, and serves as the primary subject matter expert for the design, installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, and certification of arresting systems at airfields and facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and manage aircraft arresting system (AAS) projects from concept through completion, including new installations, upgrades, repairs, and sustainment efforts
Serve as the technical authority and subject matter expert for aircraft arresting systems (e.g., BAK-12, BAK-14, engineered materials arresting systems, or equivalent)
Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidance (e.g., military specifications, FAA criteria, UFCs, and safety requirements)
Plan, coordinate, and oversee inspections, testing, and certifications of arresting systems
Develop and review technical documentation, including design packages, reports, specifications, procedures, and maintenance plans
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, maintenance personnel, airfield operations, and government stakeholders
Identify risks, troubleshoot system deficiencies, and implement corrective actions
Manage schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for assigned projects
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to team members and stakeholders
Support audits, assessments, and readiness evaluations related to airfield and arresting system operations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Demonstrated experience with aircraft arresting systems or airfield systems
Strong knowledge of aviation safety, airfield operations, and arresting system standards
Proven leadership and project management experience
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory guidance
Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

100%, in deployed location.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
