:

Purpose:

This role is responsible for developing a procurement strategy and to ensure deployment in the DP World Logistics community which includes, carrier management but not limited to time/volume agreements, operational excellence, including performance measurement (own and partners).

Key responsibilities:

• Define selection criteria based on qualitative and quantitative components.
• Steer volumes to meet time/volume targets agreed with regions/countries and the airlines.
• Maintain close communication with airline organizations where DP World Logistics is handling airfreight.
• Promote and demonstrate positive behaviors in harmony with DP World\'s Our Principles.
• Participate in the review and development of materials and documentations in the HSEMS.
• Work in accordance with the Security Management System, including the immediate reporting of any suspicious activities to senior management and/or the Security Officer.
• Understand the consequences related to inappropriate conduct or behavior or disregard for safety and security programs, policies and procedures.
• Ensure workers under your direction are properly trained and educated to perform their duties.
• Ensure that personnel under your direction have a clear understanding of the discipline policy for dealing with consequences of inappropriate conduct or behavior.
• Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all activities.
• Understand and adhere to DP World\'s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Establish an effective and efficient procurement program.

• Understand market pricing using external benchmarks such as Xeneta, World ACD, Seabury, TAC index.
• Measure own pricing vs market.
• Support tender management/pricing/commercial in modelling airfreight pricing developments to make sound decisions.

Lead procurement planning and activity of DP World Air Freight.

• Lead and deliver on strategic alliances with carriers.
• Build carrier relationships.

Qualifications, Skill and Experience:

• Successful management of all key stakeholder relationships including shareholders and external government agencies.
• Advanced knowledge of logistics processes, security procedures and protocols pertaining to freight forwarding. Focus is on air freight but a sound understanding of the entire logistics industry will be beneficial.
• Aware of new developments in the industry including index-based pricing, client carrier contracts around AFFA, marketplaces / platforms, new risk management tools and a clear understanding of digital transformation.
• Ability to benchmark with industry to evaluate and assess / manage business operations and opportunities.
• Strong negotiator and a self-starter with the ability to adapt to stressful environments by using a sociable but firm approach, as well as engendering trust and integrity.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop and encourage others to positively contribute to business goals and objectives.
• High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to client service excellence with the ability to build solid relationships.
• Experience in navigating structures, bureaucracies, and decision-making systems of large multinational corporations
