Job Description
The research technician consultant will assist the team with the following tasks; 1. Help supervisor to multiply seeds of different varieties of cowpea, pearl millet and sorghum; and other crops related with project, if required 2. Help to facilitate the processes: a. Seed sorting and preparing for sowing plan as suggested by supervisor b. Field preparation c. Intercultural operations in cropped area from pre-sowing until seed-harvest d. Seed threshing, cleaning and packaging for the project countries? requirements e. Keep the seed inventory and its movement under project 3. Maintain agricultural facilities, equipment, and tools in order to ensure operational readiness, safety, and cleanliness. 4. Any other relevant job assigned by supervisor, if needed Key Deliverables:
Contract length: 8 months Salary: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month Ability to commute/relocate:
- Seed multiplication of crop varieties of pearl millet, sorghum and cowpea; and more crops if needed.
- Seed cleaning, sorting and packaging as per the instruction of supervisor and facilitate the dispatch in consultation with gene bank in charge.
- Bachelors? degree or diploma holder in Agriculture/related discipline with working knowledge of English language
- At least 1 year experience in seed production
Contract length: 8 months Salary: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
