Summary:

The Agriculture Officer (Hydroponics

Specialist) for Schools will be responsible for designing and implementing

agricultural programs focused on hydroponics in schools. The primary role of

the Agriculture Officer will be to oversee the planning, implementation, and

maintenance of hydroponic systems within schools, to ensure the successful

growth of plants and the effective delivery of agricultural education to

students.



Candidate

Responsibilities:

Design and

implement hydroponic systems suitable for schools, including the selection of

crops, equipment, and materials required.





Develop and

deliver training programs on hydroponics to school staff and students, ensuring

that all participants understand the principles of hydroponic agriculture and

are equipped to operate the hydroponic systems.





Work with

school staff to integrate hydroponics into the curriculum, ensuring that it

aligns with educational standards and provides students with a broad

understanding of agriculture and environmental issues.





Monitor and

maintain hydroponic systems, ensuring that they are functioning properly and

that crops are growing as expected.





Manage the

purchasing and inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials required for

hydroponic systems.





Collaborate

with external organizations and experts in the field of hydroponics to keep

up-to-date with new developments and techniques.





Track and

report on program outcomes, including student participation, crop yields, and

student engagement.



Candidate

Requirements:

Bachelor's

degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.





Minimum of 2

years of experience in hydroponics or other forms of agricultural production.





Knowledge of

hydroponic systems and crop management techniques.





Excellent

communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage

with school staff and students.





Ability to

manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.





Strong

organizational and problem-solving skills.





Experience

working in a school or educational setting is preferred.



The Agriculture Officer will be primarily based in schools, working in

hydroponic labs and gardens. The position may require some outdoor work and occasional travel to other

schools or offsite locations for training or collaboration purposes. The

position may also require some weekend or evening work to accommodate school

schedules.
