Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assesses crop production of the farm
• Evaluates and improves seed quality
• Ensure accurate knowledge or reliable referrals to make recommendations to growers to achieve efficient crop production
• Design and coordinate land development projects for agricultural land
• Plan and manage production at agricultural businesses, fruit and vegetable farms, livestock holdings and agri-food companies
• Soil sample fields including multiple depth sampling, sampling by geo-reference and multiple site sampling in the event of changes in soil texture
• Ensure that application of seeding, fertility and pesticide occurs when weather conditions are optimal
• Document field evaluation of seed, chemical, specialty products and fertilizers
• Plant treatment and green space management (agricultural, and urban environments)
• Safeguard environmental sustainability, safety and quality
• Assist with agronomic budgeting and cost monitoring
• Remain up to date on crop nutrition and protection technology
• Assist with agronomic budgeting and cost monitoring

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or in any related field
• Minimum 3 year of experience in the same field
• Experience with crop management (production, seedling development, pest control, fertilization, etc)
• In-depth knowledge of soil and crop principles
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• A passion for agriculture
