A leading law firm in the UAE is seeking a Common Law-qualified Advocate to join its International Dispute Resolution (IDR) team. The successful candidate will take a key role in high-value offshore litigation and arbitration matters across the DIFC and ADGM Courts.
The Role
The position offers exposure to complex, cross-border disputes under major institutional arbitration rules (ICC, UNCITRAL, DIAC, arbitrate AD) and sophisticated common-law litigation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in drafting pleadings, submissions, and applications, and will contribute to case strategy from inception through to final award or judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and refine pleadings, memorials, and procedural applications for arbitration and offshore court proceedings.
Conduct legal research on common-law procedure, including DIFC/ADGM Rules or equivalents.
Support enforcement of awards and judgments across jurisdictions.
Advise on dispute strategy, risk, and alternative resolution mechanisms.
Candidate Profile
Qualification: Admitted in a common-law jurisdiction (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, or Ireland).
Higher rights of audience (Barrister or Solicitor-Advocate) preferred.
Eligibility for registration before the DIFC and/or ADGM Courts essential.
Experience: 2-5 years' post-qualification in advocacy, arbitration, or trial litigation. Strong drafting ability is critical; hearing experience is an advantage.
Education: Excellent academic credentials; postgraduate studies in arbitration or dispute resolution an asset.
Personal Attributes: Professional, collaborative, and adaptable, with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
