Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team. The Logistics Assistant will provide support to our logistics department by ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of transportation and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. ## Responsibilities - Coordinate and schedule shipments, deliveries, and pickups with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods. - Track and monitor the movement of goods throughout the supply chain, providing regular updates to stakeholders. - Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. - Assist in inventory management and stock control by overseeing receiving, storing, and issuing goods, as well as conducting regular stock counts. - Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any logistics or supply chain issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies. - Maintain accurate records and databases of shipments, inventory, and transportation expenses, generating reports as required. - Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other trade partners to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance with import/export regulations. - Research and source transportation providers, negotiate contracts and rates, and manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners. - Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce logistics costs. - Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management. ## Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus. - Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role. - Strong knowledge of transportation and shipping practices, including domestic and international regulations. - Proficiency in using logistics management software and tools. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. - Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to finding solutions. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
