Job summary:
The Addiction Therapist is responsible for providing the required level of psychological support to addiction patients by delivering therapeutic services at regular intervals throughout the treatment period. This also includes preparing necessary reports, documenting patient notes, participating in the follow-up of assigned cases, and updating records in the designated medical programs in a timely manner. Additionally, the role involves collaborating in the provision of individual, group, and family therapy services at regular intervals during the treatment period under the supervision of the Senior Addiction Therapist.
Job Responsibility:-
1. Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
2. Lead specialized and accredited group therapy sessions addressing various aspects of addiction and recovery.
3. Develop, review, and update patients' treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and addiction history.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
5. Attend inpatient unit rounds and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess addiction patients' needs and plan treatment.
6. Participate in individual and group supervision sessions.
7. Utilize therapeutic techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), anger management, impulse control, and psychological assessments as per training and certification.
8. Conduct psychological assessments when needed, using appropriate methodologies and tools.
9. Contribute to active research efforts aimed at enhancing the understanding of addiction-related issues and co-occurring disorders.
10. Participate in community activities and training programs related to addiction and substance abuse.
11. Engage in continuing medical education programs to maintain professional licensure.
12. Stay informed about the latest developments in substance abuse, and keep up to date with local laws, regulations, and social services to ensure appropriate care for patients.
13. Apply practical skills and techniques acquired by working alongside a Senior Addiction Therapist.
