Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examination, and identifying health concerns suitable for acupuncture treatment.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) principles or other approved acupuncture systems.
Determine appropriate acupuncture points and techniques to use.
Perform acupuncture procedures safely and effectively using sterilized needles.
Apply complementary techniques such as cupping, moxibustion, or electro-acupuncture if required.
Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust plans as needed.
Provide follow-up care and ongoing evaluations to track progress.
Educate patients on the benefits, risks, and expected outcomes of acupuncture.
Advise on lifestyle, nutrition, and preventive health practices aligned with holistic care.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient treatments and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing body documentation requirements.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals when multidisciplinary care is needed.
Refer patients to appropriate specialists if conditions fall outside the scope of acupuncture.
Adhere to infection control, clinical safety protocols, and professional standards.
Keep up to date with licensure requirements and continuing education.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on advancements in acupuncture and integrative medicine.
