Job Description

Position Overview
Perform group pricing reporting duties. Produce quotes and re-price accurately within deadlines and to the necessary standards. Research areas of pricing expertise as required by the Pricing team.
Responsibilities

1. Pricing and Modelling
  • Analyse reinsurance tenders and summarise features relevant to pricing, such as the type of business, the client’s underwriting standards, distribution method and processes.
  • The role will produce reinsurance quotations for clients accurately, within deadlines and to the necessary standards.
  • Provide documentation for each quote summarising the pricing assumptions, results and financial projections.
  • Develop a good understanding of each client and its business model e.g., market position, type of market, reinsurance requirements, strategy and future vision.
  • Peer review the work of colleagues to help ensure that good professional standards are maintained.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of pricing methods and procedures.
  • Assist in projects, research and development as required.
2. Technical
  • Develop a thorough understanding of RGA’s pricing standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending workshops and making good progress with the actuarial exams.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the region’s reinsurance practices and good knowledge of RGA treaty practices as they pertain to the management and handling of business won.
3. Communication and Industry Involvement
  • Work closely with other departments especially the Operations and Finance teams.
  • Maintain effective communication throughout RGA internationally.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives within the team.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Attend relevant technical forums to network with senior personnel in client Actuarial teams and represent RGA.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Finance / Statistics or related field.
  • Making significant ongoing progress with Actuarial examinations - nearly/fully qualified is preferable.
  • At least 3 -5 years of relevant work experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong IT skills including SQL as well as VBA experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to challenge and enhance existing analytical methodologies.
  • Will be expected to develop a solid understanding of various life and health products.
  • Strong ability to work in a team and take a proactive role to improve quality and efficiency
