Job Purpose
The A/P and Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for managing end-to-end accounts payable processes and fixed asset accounting for both Aramed and Centric UAE entities. This role ensures timely processing of supplier transactions, payment scheduling, asset capitalization, and depreciation management in compliance with company policies and IFRS. The position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit requirements, and strengthening internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Management
-Process vendor invoices for inventory, services, and operational expenses, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and correct GL coding.
-Match purchase orders (PO), goods received notes (GRN), and supplier invoices, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
-Post vendor invoices, debit/credit notes, and returns into the ERP system (Odoo).
-Track and manage post-dated cheques, due dates, and payment priorities across both Aramed and Centric UAE.
-Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, and Inventory teams to verify documentation related to customs, freight, and supplier payments.
-Prepare timely payment schedules, ensuring alignment with cash flow planning and credit terms.
Fixed Asset Management
-Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register for both Aramed and Centric UAE entities.
-Record asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, retirements, and impairment entries in accordance with IFRS.
-Tag and classify assets correctly by department, project, or cost center.
Calculate and post monthly depreciation using appropriate asset lifespans and methods.
-Coordinate annual physical verification of fixed assets with operations and department heads.
-Prepare CAPEX reports, monitor capital expenditure approvals, and reconcile actuals against budgets.
-Assist in audit queries related to fixed asset movements and depreciation schedules.
Controls and Compliance
-Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, approval hierarchies, and documentation requirements.
-Support VAT compliance by providing documentation and correct tax treatment for fixed asset purchases and vendor transactions.
-Prepare reconciliations of accounts payable and fixed asset ledgers with the general ledger monthly.
Reporting and Coordination
-Prepare supplier aging reports and fixed asset roll-forwards for review by the Chief Accountant.
-Assist in monthly closing processes by ensuring all relevant entries are posted and reconciled.
-Collaborate with the Finance, Procurement, and Admin teams to align fixed asset and vendor reporting across departments.
-Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to vendor payments and capital expenditures.
Qualifications and Experience
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
-Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role covering both Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets.
-Strong knowledge of IFRS, fixed asset capitalization rules, and vendor management practices.
-Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Odoo, and advanced Excel skills.
-Experience in a group structure managing multiple legal entities is preferred.
